A highly experienced Credit Control professional with more than 14 years expertise in in cash collection, aged debt reduction, dispute resolution, and stakeholder management. This candidate has built an outstanding reputation for reducing aged debt, improving cash flow and developing strong working relationships with both customers and internal stakeholders to deliver strong results. They have extensive experience managing UK and international customer portfolios, working across multi-currency ledgers and resolving complex queries. They are now seeking a new opportunity within the Basingstoke area, ideally with an SME where they can play a key role within the finance function and make an impact.
Exposure includes:
- Over 14 years’ specialist experience in Credit Control and Accounts Receivable within fast-paced organisations.
- Managing complex, high-value customer ledgers and debtor portfolios across UK and international clients.
- Delivering consistent improvements in cash flow, DSO and aged debt through proactive collection strategies.
- Successfully reducing aged debt from £300,000 to under £5,000 within six months
- Building strong relationships with clients, and senior stakeholders to resolve disputed and overdue debt.
- Leading debt review meetings, presenting aged debt analysis and agreeing action plans with senior management.
- Investigating and resolving complex payment allocation issues and reconciliations.
- Producing debt analysis and financial reporting using Excel, PivotTables, VLOOKUP and Power BI.
- Credit checking, setting customer credit limits and assessing financial risk.
- Negotiating payment plans, resolving disputes and escalating legal recovery where appropriate.
- Driving process improvements, documenting procedures and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Software knowledge: Microsoft 365 (Advanced Excel including PivotTables and VLOOKUP), Power BI, Coupa, Ariba, Tungsten, ServiceNow, Creditsafe, Dun & Bradstreet, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
