They bring strong skills across scheduling, supplier coordination, purchase orders, invoicing, record keeping and general business support. Their experience running their own business has provided additional exposure to basic accounts, financial tracking, pricing, budgeting, customer service and day-to-day operations.
Proactive and adaptable, they are confident managing competing priorities, coordinating across departments and maintaining accurate records and documentation. They are comfortable working independently, taking initiative and building strong relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers.
Exposure includes:
- Business administration & operations — Providing day-to-day administrative support across multiple departments, coordinating tasks, maintaining records and ensuring processes run efficiently
- Scheduling & coordination — Managing production schedules, tracking progress and following up with internal teams and suppliers to ensure deadlines are met
- Purchase orders & invoicing — Raising purchase orders, supporting invoice processing, comparing supplier quotes and working with financial information to ensure accuracy
- Supplier management — Liaising with external suppliers, including printers, requesting quotations and coordinating requirements to support business operations
- Customer service — Managing customer enquiries via email and telephone, processing orders and providing professional and timely responses
- Record keeping & documentation — Maintaining accurate schedules, records and business documentation, ensuring information is kept up to date
- Cross-team communication — Working closely with editorial, design, proofreading, production, marketing and external suppliers to keep projects moving
- Marketing support — Assisting with press releases, mail outs, website content and other marketing activities
- Financial administration — Experience with invoicing, basic accounts, tracking income and expenditure, supplier costs and maintaining financial records
- General office support — Supporting day-to-day business activities, ordering supplies, managing administrative tasks and assisting colleagues during busy periods
- Creative & digital support — Previous experience in graphic design, photography, website content and digital marketing, providing an additional skill set alongside core administration
- Small business experience — Experience supporting and running small businesses, providing a strong understanding of commercial operations, organisation and customer service
Software & Systems: Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and Outlook, Adobe Creative Suite, accounting software, website and digital platforms
Qualifications: Level 2 in Business Administration, AS Level in Psychology, GCSEs, First Aid at Work, Fire Warden
