Senior Accountant – About The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a firm that’s genuinely investing in its people, with real career progression on offer. You will manage your own portfolio of clients, get stuck into a variety of interesting work, and have the autonomy to bring your own ideas to the table.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors, acting as their main point of contact
- Preparing statutory accounts and finalising accounts under the supervision of your Line Manager
- Preparing corporation tax computations
- Supervising and reviewing the work of junior team members, providing support and training
- Spotting opportunities to improve processes and add real value for clients
- Keeping your technical knowledge sharp and up to date
- Building strong relationships across the firm and with clients
- Getting involved in pricing and new client quotes
- Continuing to develop through hands on training and support
The successful Senior Accountant will have:
- ACCA/ACA qualified, or close to qualification
- Solid UK accountancy practice experience, ideally including exposure to a varied client portfolio
- Experience with Xero, Sage, Caseware, and CCH would be a bonus
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Sharp attention to detail
- Strong Excel skills and confident picking up new software
- A positive, confident, and proactive attitude
- Comfortable prioritising and delivering high quality work to tight deadlines
- A team player who’s also self-motivated
- Ambitious, with a genuine desire to progress
