REC Survey Results

By: Greg Thorpe

I was pleased to receive the lastest survey results from our governing body, the REC and I believe it further strengthens my thoughts of the 11th February:

The results from the Quarter 4 2007 Tracking Survey provide welcome news for recruiters, showing increased levels of employer optimism:

  • Employers and agencies in 2007 were more optimistic about the demand for temporary agency workers in the next 12 months than they were in 2006
  • The satisfaction levels of agency workers and employer satisfaction with agencies both increased in 2007 from 2006
  • In the last quarter of 2007, the number of agency workers on assignment was comparable to the previous quarter and to the last quarter of 2006
  • Most employers believe that the use of agency workers will stay the same or increase over the next 12 months
  • Most employers also think that the long-term prospects for permanent jobs are good with most predicting growth in the next 12 months
