It is anticipated that the successful candidate will hold an accountancy or taxation qualification - ACCA, ACA or CTA. You should be keen to study for exams if you are not qualified. You will have strong personal tax experience and be technically competent. You should have a good working knowledge of Excel and good communication skills. You must be able to form strong client relationships, since you wil be required to maintain and establish good lines of communication within your designated client portfolio. Flexibility and a hand-on approach are key in fulfilling this varied role.
As the Assistant Tax Manager you will be expected to managing your own portfolio of clients. You will also take responsibility for the management and development of this client portfolio.
Other duties will include:
* Monitoring actual time incurred on work (work-in-progress) against internal budgets and agreed fees,
* Billing and keeping the client partner aware of status and issues.
* Completing tax returns and other compliance services.
* Identifying tax planning opportunities, including estate planning and mitigation of inheritance tax and use of trusts.
* Assisting partners and staff in quoting for new work, including identifying specification and time costs involved.
Our client is based in a good location of Camberely and is therefore easily accessible from main line stations, by public transport and by car from local surrounding areas such as Guildford and Farnborough.
