A professional qualification (CTA, ATii, ACA, ACCA) is not essential but a strong background in personal tax is required
It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills:
Demonstrate an excellent knowledge of tax law, cases and legislation and of applying this knowledge to solve clients' tax problems.
Experience of the UK tax treatment of non residents would be useful but training would be given.
Have a practical knowledge of Word, Excel and other IT skills.
Knowledge of IRIS software would be useful but is not essential.
Demonstrate a good standard of written and verbal English.

To report to the managers and partners and to control a portfolio of private clients.
Work will involve the preparation and review of tax returns & letting accounts, and all related advisory matters.
The client base covers high net wealth individuals, owner managed businesses, plc executives and non-resident landlords. A large proportion of the portfolio will be non resident clients some of whom are overseas nationals and some who are UK nationals working overseas.
To monitor time costs in relation to fee budgets.
To develop professional relationships with clients and within the firm.
To obtain computer skills relevant to the software packages used in the firm.
To work with partners and managers to ensure the efficient running of the department.
Responsibility to Clients
Provide an efficient and proactive service to clients and ensure that the clients' needs are fully met
Take responsibility for a client portfolio and all tax matters on the clients' affairs.
Deal with day-to-day client matters and liaise with a manager or director on general matters and specific one-off projects.
Ensure that statutory deadlines for filing returns and making elections are met
Liaise effectively with staff in the audit/accounts department
They are a friendly team with staff from various backgrounds and at various qualifications levels.
Their diverse client base includes UK and International clients in business sectors including Retail, Leisure, Service and Professional Partnerships. Personal tax clients include Directors, Partners, Sole Traders, HNW and Overseas Individuals.
This 3 Partner Chartered Accountancy firm are based in a central location with easy access to the train station with nearby free of charge parking.
