You will be a qualified accountant currently working in or with previous experience of a manufacturing/engineering/production environment. This really is a ‘must’ as opposed to an ‘advantage’ as you will be expected to quickly gain credibility with Directors and the rest of the senior management team. You need to be technically strong to maintain sound financial control whilst being a trusted sounding board and advisory to Operational Directors. This role is part of the senior management team acting as financial steer for the business.
In this highly visible senior management role supporting two Operational Directors you will be a key business partner offering commercial and strategic advice to ensure the business plan is achieved. You should have a thorough understanding of production and manufacturing processes in order to sustain effective financial controls within these areas and ensure ongoing review of systems and processes. In the short term you will be expected to build a solid and credible finance team with the ability to effectively support you and the business with quality reporting, analysis and financial control.
