It is anticipated that successful candidates will be ACCA, or ACA qualified, however our client will also consider applications from CIMA qualified accountants. You must be able to demonstrate a strong financial reporting background and will have detailed knowledge of listed company/PLC statutory reporting requirements under IFRS and US GAAP. The ability to work well in a pressured, deadline focused, small, committed team environment is essential, as are effective communication skills; in order to liaise with colleagues at all levels and departments of the business. You will also be expected to contribute ideas and implement improvements
As Group Financial Accountant you will take responsibility for the detailed project management of the compilation of the Group's public financial reporting compiled under US GAAP. You will be responsible for:
* The timely and accurate preparation of the quarterly Form 10-Q;
* The timely and accurate preparation of the annual Form 10-K;
* Implementing various Group Finance projects, and for researching accounting policy and reporting issues as required.
You will also be expected to assist the Senior Manager, Group Reporting, with the monthly consolidation of the Group's results, liaising with subsidiary finance teams to resolve accounting issues as required. Assist the Senior Manager, Group Reporting and the Senior Manager, Technical Accounting in the development of group-wide accounting best practice, researching accounting issues to determine appropriate policies for the group, developing written policy papers to support group accounting positions.
Both quarter end and year end duties are to tight timetables, and require the coordination of input from a number of senior staff throughout the group into the various sections of the Form 10-Q and Form 10-K. These separate sections should be viewed as distinct projects (as they deal with separate aspects of the business and require the coordination of different functions within the group).
This position does not have any direct reports; however the nature of this role means that the job holder is required to supervise and coordinate a number of finance and other function leaders around the group at key times throughout the reporting calendar.
