About You  

With good communication skills, both written and verbal, you will be highly motivated and able to work well either on your own or as part of a team.  A good eye for detail and excellent presentation in your work is essential.
You will have researched your career options and be able to demonstrate an understanding of taxation, and discuss why this is the career for you.

Good ‘A' level (or equivalent) grades are essential, minimum 280 UCAS points, and you will have a desire to pursue a career in accountancy.

Ideally, one of your ‘A’ levels should be Maths or Accountancy and if you are a Graduate it is anticipated that you will have also undertaken a numeric based degree and have obtained, or be anticipating obtaining a degree classification of 2:1 or above.

About The Role

Working as part of a team, you will undertake tasks assigned by the tax manager that will include:
* Writing to the client for the information needed
* Sorting the information received and comparing with previous year
* Preparation of tax computations for self-employed
* Preparation of income and expenditure accounts for letting income
* Computing chargeable gains
* Entering the information on computer and printing returns and schedules
* Sending to client and advising payments required
* Submission to Inland Revenue
 Other ad-hoc assistance with tax matters, such as advising on the maximum pension contributions payable in a tax year; checking and advising client on notice of coding received; assistance in completion of forms P11D (returns of benefits and expenses payments).
 Preparation of simple tax computations and company tax returns, which will involve
* Review of accounts and working papers
* Identifying items disallowable for tax purposes
* Computing capital allowances
* Submission to Inland Revenue
* Recording time spent of each client’s affairs using relevant computer software
* Assisting in marketing activities as required
